The preferred method for upgrading your Hub’s firmware is connecting the recorder to the Internet (via Ethernet cable or WiFi) and performing a firmware update using the network. However, you can also manually update your Hub's Firmware by following these steps. Your Hub’s firmware MUST be up to date in order for the Night Owl Technical Support team to provide proper support. |
To Manually Update your Hub's Firmware:
1. Download the most current firmware file
2. Rename the Firmware file to help_up.com.
3. Copy Firmware file to an USB Memory Stick; DO NOT COPY THE FILE INTO A FOLDER on the USB Memory Stick because your Hub will not be able to identify it. NOTE: Your USB Memory should be using FAT32 file system.
4. Make sure your Hub is powered on.
5. Insert the USB Memory Stick into the USB Port located on the back of your Hub.
6. Reboot your Basestation.
7. To confirm the Basestation upgrade was successful, check in your Night Owl Protect account. Under device information, the Firmware should be displayed and should display up to date.
Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
