Night Owl strongly suggests that you write down your Admin password within the Quick Setup Guide of your DVR, as you will be required to log in any time you want to configure or adjust your system settings.
1. Login Setup
Note: Night Owl strongly suggests that you write down your Admin password as you will be required to log in any time you want to configure or adjust your system settings.
The first time you connect your DVR/NVR or after a factory reset, during the Startup Wizard you will be able to setup the Admin Password (Username for Admin Account is “admin”). Make sure to select a strong password that meets the requirements of your system. On Login Setup screen, you also will be required to enter a recovery email to be used in case you miss or forget your password. Please, enter a correct email address which you can ease access.
2. Forgot your password
In case you forgot your password, you can use the recovery email to reset it.
The recovery email will help you to reset your password sending a reset code by email. Use this code to enter a new password. To use this feature, your system must be connected to the Internet. If you don’t have your system connected to the internet or you haven’t configured the recovery email yet, you must call to Customer Service to get the reset code.
After getting the reset code, please configure the recovery email by running the Startup Wizard and when you be prompted to enter the email where you would like to automatically receive the reset code in case you forget your password.” With this Section: “After receiving Help for our technical support team, a reset code will be provided to you, in this instance our agents will be able to help you save your Email address in your Product Startup Wizard: Email setup page, this will help you receive an Email with a password reset code, in case you have forgotten your password
Note: Currently, not all our models support this feature. We are working to extend it to all models. If your system does not support email password reset, please, Call our technical support team and they will help you with this issue.
The steps described before are for Admin Users, if you are not the Admin User of the DVR, you must contact the Admin to solve any problem with username and password.
